Yesterday I decided to walk from our condo to A1a and see some of the sights on foot. I knew that I wanted to make a couple of shop stops along the way so I brought along a little cash and of course a card. My first stop wasn’t too far from home, Luv Ya Mean It Oddities Gift Shop at 305 A1A Beach Blvd, St Augustine, FL 32080 – http://lymioddities.com. What a pleasant surprise! The owner, Cindy was just a sweet as can be. I loved everything she carries, all local, handmade items. I have a sister with a birthday the end of the month (hi Joy) so I purchased something for her. Please like Cindy’s Facebook page (LYMI Oddities) where you will see some of her items for sale. I will be going back there before I leave St. Augustine.
My next stop down the road was the Sunburst Trading Company – http://www.sunburstflorida.com I really wasn’t impressed. They have oodles of things for sale, and pride themselves as direct importers. Almost everything in the store in imported from overseas. You can even buy any kind of shell you may be looking for instead of going to the beach and finding them. Needless to say, I walked out without making a purchase.
I walked almost 2 miles in one direction, saw a dead Armadillo on the sidewalk. Felt very sorry for the poor thing. I’ve never seen a live one, so I was disappointed that this one had been hit by a car. Sorry, no pictures folks – too gross.
We decided to try a new place for dinner and were happily surprised by Mango Mangos menu and food http://mangomangos.com. The interior wasn’t too impressive but the parking was as plentiful as the food. I had the Crab Cake dinner which was way too much to eat in one sitting. Curt had the Coconut Shrimp appetizer which was still way too much food. We brought our leftovers home for a later time (now we sound like really old people).
